I’ll give you a clue. They have gone to the courts a lot, and they hate
fags gay people. Give up? Here’s your next clue.
Yes, it’s the Westboro Baptist Church. Why do you ask? The mother of Matthew Shepard, Judy Shepard, will speak later on in the semester. A group of students and I are thinking of counter-protesting.
I have just completed a visiting position as an assistant professor at Dalhousie University. My ideas are not associated with my employer; they are expressions of my own thoughts and ideas. Some of them are just musings while others could be serious discussions that could turn into a bigger project.
Besides philosophy, I enjoy martial arts (Kuk Sool Won), playing my violin, enjoying coffee around town, and experimenting with new food.

Please don’t use the word fag. As you know I have many gay friends and relatives and I can’t stand that word.
Understandable. I meant to be facetious towards the church. It’s hard to show sarcasm online.
I think an anti-protest would be appropriate. The freedom of speech should be exercised by people as much as the extremists. The idea of a protest against the extremely slanted view of the church would be for the best. If I was there I would join. The fact that there are people that are so judgmental confuses me. I will never understand the point of protesting someone who you think is bound for hell. It just seems silly, like somehow god will give you bonus points for having protested the ‘sinners’…really?
